  1.   I'm an experienced Internet user, and I started using the basic old Unix
  2.   command prompt. Now I don't see how to get files to my PC. What's going on?

  5.   Here's our basic attitude (speaking for Windows users now).
  6.  
  7.   OUR UNIX BOX (with its command lines) DOES NOT EXIST. There are several
  8.   ways to find a file on the Internet, for example:
  9.  
  10.   -- You can try the Files icon (or menu item) in the main window. This
  11.   lets you search everywhere for a file by name. When you get a list, you
  12.   select one (or more) that you want.
  13.  
  14.   -- You can browse (or search) particular archives. We've chosen some
  15.   good ones and put them in the "Best Collections of Mac and PC Software"
  16.   item under Pathways into the Internet in the main window.

  18.   -- If you have a particular site that you want to get a file from (and
  19.   you must, if you were planning to use FTP from a command line), you can do
  20.   this from the "Any site . . ." item under "Best Collections . . ."

  22.   Note: in all these cases, the file comes directly to your own PC. Yes,
  23.   secretly it passes through our box along the way--but our attitude, once
  24.   more, is that we are cutting out the middleman.
